22 May 2008 - School Photo 1961/1962

Here is the photo which I was referring to, it must have been I think 1961 or l962, it was our last year at primary school and our teacher was Mr Gibson. I am seated fifth from the right and my maiden name was Maria McKinnell.

We had three sets of twins in our class. I vaguely remember some of the names.  It would be nice to be in touch.  I was corresponding for a long time with my best friend then, Sally Jarvis who was sitting next to me, to my right, but we lost contact about fifteen years ago.

I am, as I said living in South Africa, but my eldest daughter has just in the last year decided for the time being to settle in Glenkinchie in Scotland and works at Oxenfoord Castle, Pathhead for a Wine Company. Perhaps my second daughter will come and work at Roslin (Veterinary school) for awhile this year, September, as she is a vet and specialising in internal medicine at the moment here at Onderstepoort vet faculty.

I just sometimes wonder what became of everyone from my class.
